TAILA - AI Intelligence Layer / Peopletree Group
Real-time insights, narrative coaching, and decision support embedded across the entire talent platform. AI that makes managers better.
Intelligence Layer · Embedded across the entire platform
TAILA is the intelligence layer that sits across the entire platform.
It uses AI to enhance decision-making, surface insights, and guide users through the Peopletree ecosystem in a structured and practical way.
One layer. Four components. Intelligence everywhere.
TAILA doesn't live in one place. It operates across the entire platform, reading data from each component and returning narrative insights where users need them.

Capabilities in this component
Traditional HR tools are built for HR professionals. TAILA is built for the people who manage talent every day - line managers, team leads, and business partners who need clear, actionable insight without needing to be data analysts.
TAILA reads platform data - assessments, profiles, success data, analytics metrics - and converts it into natural language narratives that managers can use directly in conversations with their team.
How TAILA works
A four-step workflow that turns platform data into personalised, actionable conversations - without creating new data or automating decisions
What managers can do with TAILA
Six conversation types that transform how managers engage with their teams
How Tsebo used TAILA to earn Top Employer recognition
Tsebo Solutions Group operates across 27 countries. Under Group CHRO Elanie Kruger, Tsebo implemented TAILA to create personalised development plans for 300+ managers, identify leadership potential, and provide evidence for Top Employers Institute certification.

TAILA versus other AI HR tools
Most AI tools in HR are built for process automation or compliance. TAILA is built for the conversations that actually develop people.
Generic AI HR Tools
Seven principles for AI design in HR
TAILA was designed around a set of principles that govern how AI should behave in a talent context. These are not aspirational statements - they are design constraints built into every feature.
From the Principles for AI Design in HR series
Principle 7: Protect Data
We safeguard all people data, ensuring it is used ethically, securely, and in alignment with applicable privacy regulations. All TAILA processing occurs within Microsoft Azure's West Germany region (EU data residency). Data is pseudonymised before model input, encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), and never retained at the AI layer.
What is TAILA and how does it work?
TAILA is the AI intelligence layer embedded across the Peopletree platform. It reads structured data from TalentPrint, TalentProfile, DataHub, and DataWiz, and converts that data into narrative insights, coaching guides, and development recommendations. It does not generate free-form responses - every output is constructed from predefined prompt structures using your organisation's own data.
How is TAILA different from generic AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot?
Generic AI tools respond to open-ended prompts without access to your organisation's data. TAILA is connected directly to your talent data - assessments, performance records, role profiles, and succession plans. Every insight is specific to the individual, the role, and your organisational context. It does not hallucinate or generate generic advice.
Does TAILA store or learn from our employee data?
No. TAILA operates on a stateless, session-isolated architecture. Each interaction is processed independently and no data is retained at the AI layer. Personal identifiers are replaced with masked placeholders before any data reaches the AI model. Processing occurs within Microsoft Azure's West Germany region (EU data residency).
Who is TAILA designed for - HR teams or line managers?
TAILA is designed primarily for line managers and team leads - the people who have daily conversations with employees but often lack the tools, time, or training to make those conversations meaningful. HR teams use TAILA to scale their impact across the organisation without increasing headcount.
Can TAILA integrate with our existing HRIS?
Yes. TAILA is available as an API integration for organisations that already have an established HRIS platform. Peopletree's secure middleware handles all data masking and compliance requirements. The integration requires a technical scoping session to confirm compatibility and data mapping.
What decisions does TAILA automate?
None. TAILA does not automate talent decisions. It surfaces insights and recommendations that support human decision-making. Outputs are advisory - they inform conversations, not replace them. Every recommendation requires a manager or HR professional to review, interpret, and act on it.
How long does it take to implement TAILA?
For organisations using the Peopletree platform, TAILA is available immediately - no additional implementation is required. For API integrations with an existing HRIS, implementation typically takes 4-8 weeks depending on data availability and technical complexity.
